SureJob is a job search and career guidance application designed for fresh college graduates to help them land their first job.

I conducted user interviews, which I then turned into empathy maps to better understand the target user and their needs. I discovered that many small businesses don’t own their own website to sell their products online. Existing online platforms doesn’t provide clear search and filter methods for desired skills and open positions. By understanding the thoughts, feelings, and motivations of our users, we can design a mobile application that addresses their pain points and delivers the gains they are looking for. We can use this empathy map to guide our decisions about the design, content, and features of the website to create a user experience that resonates with our target audience.

Takeaways

Impact

Our target users shared that the design was intuitive to navigate through, more engaging with the images, and demonstrated a clear visual hierarchy.

What I Learned

I learned that even a small design change can have a huge impact on the user experience. The most important takeaway for me is to always focus on the real needs of the user when coming up with design ideas and solutions.
